Covering Fabric may be purchased at a local fabric store (S.R. Harris; Mills End; Jo-Anne; etc.) You may also shop for fabric at the gallery. We offer fabric through Charlotte Fabrics in Minneapolis.
|CLASS SUPPLIED MATERIALS||
Most supplies are
provided. Certain supplies (foam) will be available to purchase at wholesale
prices (see below).
|TIME REQUIRED||5 four-hour sessions|
The first session will involve instruction on the proper stripping of the piece [yes, there are handy and time saving tricks] and discussion of the phases of your project from start to finish. This time will also be used to make sure supplies will be available and on hand for the completion of your project, and to answer any questions you may have. Students can purchase supplies in class (see below), or provide their own. Students are provided with basic tools for use in class (staple puller, mallet, shears, tape measure, side cutter, regulator, pliers)
The remaining sessions will be devoted to learning upholstery techniques related to your project, and those of your fellow students. Classes are limited to six students to ensure you get the individual attention you need to keep working and progressing, as well as the sharing of ideas, tricks and shortcuts of the trade. Bring your fabric, or email if you need suggestions on where to purchase fabric and/or how much you need for your project. The focus of this class is to have fun learning the art of re-upholstery, and hopefully complete our projects.
